RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls men's basketball team defeated UW-Stevens Point 70-60 Wednesday evening at Page Arena.
UWRF, now 8-8 overall and 2-3 during WIAC competition, rallied from a first-half deficit to take down the Pointers.
In the first half, UWSP scored 19 points off Falcon turnovers, and led by as many as 10 just over 11 minutes in. UWRF finished the half outscoring the visitors 17-11 to trail 34-30 at the break.
10 minutes into the second half, a
Rodrick Payne layup gave UWRF its first lead of the night at 50-48. From there, the Pointers tied the game up once more before the Falcons took control and led for the rest of regulation.
Mason Anderson made a trio of clutch three-pointers down the stretch, and tied for the team scoring lead with Payne, each totaling 16 points.
UWRF shot 48.2 percent from the field and 42.1 from beyond the arc while leading 44-23 in rebounds, led by nine from
Marshall Holland.
Logan Jedwabny added 13 points with three triples.
