Rise N' Grind Recap

The Falcons have been flying all over the central United States for some of the biggest competitions around while also taking on local rivals in national competitions.

In their 2nd largest outing of the semester, UWRF Smash traveled to Texas to compete in Rise 'N Grind over the weekend of October 13th. One of the largest regional tournaments in country, the Melee roster featured strong finishes across the board in the singles bracket with both Caleb "Royal" Royal and Lamont "Lamonster" Santo scoring a 17th place finish while Anthony "Preeminent" Braun and Ben "Ben" Strandmark locked up spots in the top 10 at 9th and 7th respectively. Ben had a particularly impressive run to top 8 before falling to professional player from Flyquest John "KoDoRiN" Ko.

UWRF Ultimate came off a great week of competition that featured a clean sweep of North Dakota State University in NACE but couldn't match those results at the Texas tournament. Riley "Nanukka" Bresette led the team with a 193/443 placing in his singles bracket run and a 17th place finish in the crew battle.

Back on campus, the rest of Falcon Esports went a combined 9-5 across 5 different leagues of competition. The League of Legends roster only dropped a single map in their games against Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and Northwest Missouri State university. Valorant also had a strong showing going 2-1 with wins against Wisconsin Lutheran and UW-Whitewater while taking a tough loss to UW-Madison in the WVAC Invitational Finals. Team captain Jeremy "Po1ar" Myers held down the fort in each series with an impressive 70/31/19 KDA against the Warhawks and 37/30/11 KDA against the Badgers.
