RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The UW-River Falls men's basketball team suffered a 77-69 loss versus the University of Northwestern Tuesday evening at Page Arena.
The Falcons, now 1-4 overall, have the rest of the week off for Thanksgiving break before returning to action at Crown College next Thursday, Nov. 30.
UWRF led by as many as 16 at 5:41 of the first half after a
Zac Johnson jumper extended the Falcons lead to 31-15. UWRF maintained a double-digit lead for most of the remaining first half and led by eight at halftime, 34-26.
Northwestern's shooting was on fire in the second half, shooting 60 percent from the field and 10-of-17 from beyond the arc. The Eagles outscored the Falcons 51-35 in the second half and took their first lead since early on in the game with a Parker Behne fastbreak triple at 11:04, giving UNW a 49-47 lead.
After UNW took its second-half lead, they didn't let it slip away for the rest of regulation, leading by as many as 10 on several occasions.
UWRF shot 27-of-72 from the field and 5-of-20 from three-point range.
Zac Johnson led the Falcons with 23 points, followed by 13 from
Logan Jedwabny and 11 from
Jack Leifker.Â
