ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. - The UW-River Falls men's basketball team snapped its two-game losing skid with a 77-54 win at Crown College Thursday evening.
The Falcons, now 2-4 overall, tied a season-high with 29 made field goals along with season highs in free throws made (9) and steals (15).
UWRF forced 19 Polar turnovers, turning those into 20 points, and held the home team to under 40 percent shooting from the field. The Falcons held a narrow edge in rebounds (35-33) and shot 43.3 percent from the field and 10-of-25 from beyond the arc.
The Falcons held an advantage for the majority of the first half and led by as many as 13 with its final basket of the half, a
Micah Thompson jumper, and UWRF led 36-25 at the intermission.
In the second half, the Falcons shot 6-of-13 from three-point range and 7-for-7 at the free throw line. UWRF's first basket of the half, a
Jack Leifker jumper, gave the Falcons and double-digit lead in which they held for the rest of regulation.
Logan Jedwabny led the Falcons with a season-high 19 points, shooting 8-of-12 from the field and 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.
Jake Reeck and
Noah Hanson also had season-highs with 14 and 12 points, respectively, including a team-high four made triples from Reeck.
Marshall Holland collected a team-high six rebounds while
Will Van Scoy led with four assists.
UWRF returns to Page Arena to host Viterbo University on Saturday.
