As the Falcons close out their regular season and gear up for playoffs, they closed out October strong but stumbled into November. Through the last 2 days of October, the Falcons tore off an impressive 6-1 record with wins across the Rocket League, Valorant, Rainbow 6: Siege, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Overwatch F1 and F2 rosters. However, they only managed 5 wins out of 16 games to kick off November. While most rosters have playoffs secured in either NACE, NECC, or both, teams are looking to gain momentum going into their first postseasons as opposed to limping into the first round of playoffs.
Â
One of those rosters hoping to right the ship at the right time is the UWRF League of Legends team. After losing their shot at taking first in their conference, they make their NACE Varsity Plus playoff debut tonight against East Central University. After an 8-4 season in NACE and NECC, they're coming off an 0-2 week before this matchup. Coach Gentilcore has taken a mixed approach at both correcting some drafting errors on his part as well as working with the players on some key fundamentals to shore up their late game macro play in these win or go home games.
Â
Also starting their playoff run this week in a massive underdog matchup against Ohio State University is UWRF R6. The Rainbow 6 roster finished the season strong going 3-1 down the final stretch including an impressive 2-0 win over Western Michigan on the MidwestR6 stream last week. They are going to need every trick in the book to bring down Ohio State in a 6th vs 27th Round of 32 showdown.Â

In tournament action, the UWRF Smash team is traveling back-to-back weekends at the start of November. Their first trip took the Melee roster to DePaul University for
Out of the Blue 2. The Falcons secured 2 top 10 finishes in both Singles and Doubles. Anthony "Preeminent" Braun placed 2nd out of 32 in Doubles and 9th out of 175 in Singles losing to Dillon "Ossify" Duhalde out of Michigan and Henry "Lowercase Hero" Moser from Wisconsin.
Ben Strandmark achieved his best tournament placing of the season with a 2nd place finish in Singles losing only to tournament champion Avery "Ginger" Wilson from Michigan. The Falcons are headed to Urbana, IL this Saturday for Show Me Your Moves 23.
