MINNEAPOLIS / DULUTH, Minn. - The UW-River Falls men's and women's track & field teams completed its weekend of competition opening the 2023-24 indoor season at the University of Minnesota and the College of St. Scholastica.
Jacob Balcome and
Charlie Theis rounded out representing the Falcon men at the second day of the University of Minnesota's M City Classic, completing their final events in the Heptathlon. In his first collegiate competition, freshman
Jacob Balcome took fifth of 12 individuals with 4,461 points, the third-best score in UWRF men's indoor history.Â
Charlie Theis finished eighth with a personal best total of 4,024 points.
A group of Falcon distance runners also competed at the St. Scholastica Opener.Â
Freshman
Alex Pazdernik led a group of Falcons in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:46.62, finishing second of 12 runners.
Cory Pfeifer led the Falcons in the men's 3K with a time of 9:39.21 while Laine Viere led UWRF in the women's 3K, placing second of 12 runners with a time of 10:51.09.
