STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-River Falls men's basketball team rallied for a 69-62 win at UW-Stevens Point Wednesday evening.
Trailing by eight at halftime, UWRF broke open for 40 points in the second half while holding the Pointers to under 30 percent shooting in the final 20 minutes to earn the win.
Logan Jedwabny led the Falcons with 26 points, tying a season-high with six three-pointers. The Falcons made a season-high 25 free throws, eight from
Rodrick Payne and a 6-for-6 effort from Jedwabny.
Jedwabny made 4-of-5 from beyond the arc in the first half, but a 9-0 UWSP run in the final three minutes gave the home team a 37-29 at the break.
UWRF shot over 50 percent from the field in the second half, and earned its first lead of the night with just over four minutes left in regulation with a Jedwabny triple. From there, the Falcons didn't allow the Pointers to take back a lead, and led by as many as nine late with a pair of Marshal Holland free throws.
Both teams collected 33 rebounds, including a team-high six each from Payne and Holland. Behind Jedwabny, Payne added 12 points, and 10 from
Dylan Parker.
Mason Anderson had a career-high four assists.
The Falcons return home to face UW-Platteville on Saturday.
