CHICAGO, Ill. – The UW-River Falls softball team closed out the weekend with a win over North Park and loss to Loras College on Sunday during the second day of competition at the North Park University Triangular.
The Falcons, now 12-8 overall, wrapped up the weekend with a trio of wins over North Park prior the loss versus the Duhawks.
UW-River Falls 6, North Park 3
Trailing 3-2 after two and a half innings, the Falcons answered with a run in the bottom of the third and three more in the fourth to earn the win.
After a
Matti Renikow sacrifice fly tied the game at 3-3 after three innings, the Falcons scored three runs off two hits and a Viking error in the fourth.
Hannah Richards hit an RBI double, followed by a
Johanna Breyen RBI fielder's choice, and a
Keegan Piton sacrifice fly.
Savanna Trittelwitz improved her record to 3-0 on the season, pitching four innings while allowing three runs.
Lindsey Duggan finished off the game tossing three scoreless innings to earn the save.
At the plate,
Keegan Piton and
Lindsey Strom led the Falcons with two hits each.

In game two on the day and fourth of the weekend, the Duhawks snapped the Falcons' three-game winning streak, scoring nine runs off 17 hits in six innings.
Down 5-0 after three innings, the sole Falcons run came off a
Lindsey Strom RBI single in the fourth that scored
Jewel Waupekenay. Strom and Waupekenay led the team with two hits each.
Maggie Wallin took the loss in the pitcher's circle.
