RIVER FALLS, Wis. — The UW-River Falls softball program has announced the launch of the Mindy (Rudiger) Ramberg Home Dugout Dedication Campaign, an initiative to honor the life and legacy of former Falcon student-athlete Mindy (Rudiger) Ramberg.
Ramberg, a standout member of the Falcon softball program from 2005-09, passed away unexpectedly in September 2025. A three-time All-WIAC honoree, Ramberg made a lasting impact on the program through her accomplishments on the field and the relationships she built as a teammate, leader, and member of the Falcon community.
To celebrate her legacy, the Falcon softball program is seeking to raise $10,000 to dedicate the home dugout at Faye Perkins Softball Stadium in Ramberg's honor. Contributions to the naming project will directly support the Falcon softball program and future student-athlete experiences.
"Mindy was an incredible student-athlete and an incredible person, and she left a lasting impression on everyone who was blessed to know her," said UWRF Athletics Director Crystal Lanning. "Naming the home dugout in Mindy's honor will serve as a permanent reminder of the meaningful influence she had on the Falcon softball program."
A formal dedication ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, during UWRF's fall scrimmage against St. Kate's. Alumni, family, friends, and supporters of Falcon Softball are invited to attend the event as the program celebrates Ramberg's life and legacy.
Supporters interested in contributing to the campaign can make a gift online or contact the UWRF Foundation for additional giving options. To make an online gift, please click here: Athletics Giving Page and select the "Women's Fastpitch Softball Fund".
