EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The UW-River Falls volleyball team wrapped up its final two matches of the UW-Eau Claire Tournament with a 3-0 win over Beloit and then a five-set loss to St. Catherine.
Grace Boles and
Sami Hilley were named to the All-Tournament Team.
UW-River Falls 3, Beloit 0
In the first match of the day, the Falcons outscored Beloit 51-15 holding the Buccaneers to single digit scores in all three sets. They won 25-9, 25-7, and 25-9.
The Falcon offense hit a season high .406, while forcing the Buccaneers to hit as many errors as kills.
Sami Hilley continued her offensive dominance leading the Falcons with nine kills and a .600 hitting percentage.
Grace Boles assisted on the attack with 15 assists and led the defense with eight digs.
St. Catherine 3, UW-River Falls 2
The Falcons battled it out in the second match of the day falling to St. Catherine in a close five sets. St. Kates took the first set 28-26 and the Falcons answered back with their own extra point win 26-24. The Wildcats took back the lead winning 25-21 in the third and then winning the fifth 15-13.
UWRF had 62 kills and hit .108.
Kameri Meredith led the team with 15 kills, three serving aces, and an impressive 30 digs.
Katelyn Nichols and
Sami Hilley each recorded double digit kills collecting 14 and 13 respectively. Nicholas also had eight blocks.
Boles led UWRF with 56 assists and added 21 digs.
The Falcons open up WIAC play Wednesday September 20 at UW-Sevens Point.
