RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The UW-River Falls men's basketball team fell 79-77 to UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon at Page Arena.
The Falcons and Pointers traded 13 leads throughout the contest, while UWSPÂ scored 21 points off turnovers and were paced by a strong first half shooting from long-range.Â
UWRF led 38-27 on the glass while UWSP shot 49 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range, compared to UWRF's 50 percent mark from the field and 9-of-28 three-point shooting.
In the first half, the Pointers forced eight Falcon turnovers and were 7-of-10 from beyond the arc to claim a 40-36 lead at the half.Â
Zac Johnson drove the Falcon offense with 21 points and a season-high nine assists, along with a team-high eight rebounds. Three other Falcon starters scored in double figures, with
Logan Jedwabny scoring 18 points along with 17 from
Noah Hanson and 11 from
Jack Leifker.
Up next, UWRF (11-8 overall, 5-3 WIAC) heads to UW-La Crosse on Wednesday, Jan. 31.
