RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls men's basketball team fell 78-65 against UW-Stout Wednesday evening during its final regular season home game at Page Arena.
UWRF was held to a season-low 32.4 field goal percentage while the UW-Stout duo of Brody Fox and Aidan Shore combined for over half of the Blue Devil points.
The Falcons struggled in the first half, shooting under 30 percent from the field while the Blue Devils shot over 50 percent to claim a 45-24 lead at halftime, led by a 14-point effort from Brody Fox.
UWRF made things interesting in the second, outscoring Stout 41-33 while improving its shooting numbers from 24 percent to 42 percent. Three minutes into the second half, the Blue Devils led by 26 points before the Falcons answered with a 22-10 in the next 10 minutes to trim the Stout lead to 62-50. It wasn't enough however as the Blue Devils maintained at least a nine-point advantage for the rest of regulation.
Jack Leifker led the Falcons with a double-double off 19 points and a career-high 11 rebounds.
The Falcons, now 13-11 overall and 7-6 during WIAC competition, closes out the regular season at UW-Whitewater on Saturday.
