RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The UW-River Falls men's basketball team fell 82-73 against No. 14-ranked UW-Platteville Saturday at Page Arena.
The Falcons, now 12-9 overall and 6-4 during WIAC competition, trailed at halftime and despite outscoring the Pioneers in the second half were unable to come away with the win.
In the first half, the visitors were hot from beyond the arc at a 7-of-12 clip while the Falcons made just 1-of-11, trailing by 10 heading into the locker room.
UWRF's shooting numbers improved in the second half, shooting over 50 percent from the field and from three-point range, making 8-of-15. Just past the midway point of the second half, a
Zac Johnson three-pointer cut the Pioneer lead to just two at 61-59, but UWP's Max Love answered with a three-pointer to put the visitors back up by five, and the Pioneers led for the rest of the way.Â
Johnson led the Falcons with 25 points off 9-of-15 shooting from the field with five assists.

UWRF heads to UW-Eau Claire next Wednesday.
