WAVERLY, Iowa - The UW-River Falls men's and women's track & field pole vaulters competed at the Wartburg College Good Friday Challenge on Friday, March 29, headlined by
Annika Gunderson further improving upon her school record pole vault mark.
Gunderson, who previously set the UWRF women's outdoor pole vault school record last season and also owns the indoor record, improved her record from 3.78 meters to 3.90 meters (12 feet, 9.5 inches) to take first place. Her mark of 3.90m also currently ranks second in all of NCAA Division III.
Women's freshman
Kalea Dale took fourth at 2.90m (9-6.25).
On the men's side,
Joe Stauffer,
Blake Johnson, and
Joel Alexander all finished among the top six of 12 pole vaulters. Stauffer was the runner-up at 4.58 meters (5th all time at UWRF) while Johnson and Alexander both set personal records at 4.28 meters.
