RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The UW-River Falls softball team fell to UW-Eau Claire in a doubleheader WIAC match up Wednesday evening at Perkins Field.
The Falcons now 10-20 overall, 0-12 WIAC return to action on Friday, May 3rd for their season finale at UW-Whitewater.

It was a pitchers' dual in game one with just seven combined hits. For the Falcons,
Maggie Wallin pitched her tenth complete game of the season, allowing just three hits and totaled five strikeouts.
UWRF won the hiting battle 4-3, but were unable to bring home their runners' on base.
The game was held scoreless on both sides for the first five innings. UWEC was able to score a home run in the sixth, becoming the eventual game winner.
Hannah Richards led the Falcons, hitting an RBI triple in the third and a single in the fifth.
Maggie Wallin suffered the loss in the pitchers' circle.

In game two, the Blugolds started out the scoring in the first with an RBI single to left field for the eventual game winner.
The Falcons shut down the Blugolds bats after the first, holding them scoreless. It was a pitching battle once again, with both teams also playing stellar defense.
UWRF was just not able to find a response and was held to just three hits.
In the pitchers' circle
Lindsey Duggan suffered the loss, with
Brooklyn VanGruensven coming in for relief. VanGruensven allowed just one hit and had three strikeouts.
