PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The UW-River Falls men's and women's track & field teams completed the second day of the 2024 WIAC Outdoor Championships on Saturday on the campus of UW-Platteville.
The Falcon men and women both finished in eighth place while UW-La Crosse brought home team titles for both men and women.
Saturday's performance was headlined by
Katie Haase in the women's discus throw. Here personal record throw of 42.82 meters (140 feet, 6 inches) was good for an All-Conference third place finish, and a UWRF top 10 mark.
The UWRF men totaled 22.5 points, including a fourth place finish in the high jump for
Yaih Marial at 2.01 meters.
Dylan Wachter also totaled five points with a fourth place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.40.
In addition,
Joel Alexander set a personal record in the triple jump by nearly two feet, leading 46-1.6 (14.06m) to finish seventh in the triple jump.
Matt Boche also had a PR in the 400-meter hurdles at 58.53.

Led by Haase's All-WIAC finish, the women tallied 22 team points.
Lexi LeFever contributed eight points, finishing seventh in the long jump on Friday prior to a fifth place finish in the 200-meter dash (25.10) and a sixth place time in the 100-meter hurdles (14.72) on Saturday.
Both of the women's relay teams set season-best times as well;Â
