The UW-River Falls men's and women's track & field teams continue their outdoor season this week as they travel to UW-La Crosse for the Esten Challenge, held Thursday and Friday.
The two-day meet begins Thursday with a full slate of multi-events and field competitions before track finals get underway later in the afternoon. Multi-event athletes will compete across both days. Friday will conclude competition with final multi-event competitions.

FALCON NOTES
- UW-River Falls enters the weekend following one of its strongest meets of the outdoor season at Platteville, highlighted by multiple personal records and top-10 all-time program marks.
- On the distance side, Jack Richter led the way in the 5,000 meters, running 14:59.74 to move into No. 7 all-time in program history. Ryan Pierson followed closely at 15:18.21, ranking No. 8 all-time.
- In the steeplechase, Jaidyn McAlpine delivered one of the top performances in program history, running 11:18 to move into the No. 2 all-time spot.
- The 800-meter group highlighted the meet, with Logan Munson capturing the event title in 1:54.86. Tyler Parker added a third-place finish with a personal best of 1:55.43, and Kaden Tinney continued the momentum with a collegiate-best 1:58.8.
- In the field events, Lauryn Schutz moved into No. 2 all-time in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.33 meters, while Ali Clifford now ranks No. 5 all-time at 48.38 meters. Logan Schmidt continued his standout season in the shot put, moving into No. 2 all-time with a throw of 15.71 meters.
- On the track, Jacob Balcome added to the program record performances with a 15.31 finish in the 110-meter hurdles, ranking No. 7 all-time.
