OSHKOSH, Wis. - The UW-River Falls men's and women's cross country teams each recorded their best WIAC Championship finishes since 2017 on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the XC Ranch in Oshkosh, Wis., led by strong team depth across both races.
The Falcon men placed seventh overall with a total of 195 points, paced by Jack Richter, who led the way in 22nd place with a time of 24:58.6. Logan Munson followed behind in 39th (25:19.1), while Ryan Pierson (44th, 25:21.9), Alex Pazdernik (56th, 25:36.0), and Wyatt Johnson (64th, 25:49.3) rounded out the scoring lineup – all notching a spot in the all-time Top-20 list. Sophomore Cooper Smith finished seventh for the Falcons in 89th (26:39.24) and was recognized on the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team for his leadership and representation of the program.
On the women's side, UW-River Falls earned a fourth-place team finish with 124 points, marking the program's top WIAC result in eight years. Laina Viere once again paced the Falcons with a 13th-place finish (21:53.6), followed by Adison Wilde in 21st (22:12.9). Emma Karnitz (33rd, 22:47.6), Issabella Jeurissen (38th, 22:56.4), and Jalyssa Groskreutz (41st, 23:01.8) rounded out the scoring lineup to secure the top-half team finish. In the same fashion as the men's team, all five runners recorded new UWRF Top-20 times. Sophomore Adison Wilde was also honored on the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team, highlighting her consistency and impact throughout the 2025 season.
The Falcons' combined results continue an upward trajectory for both programs, marking year-over-year improvements under head coach Meaghan Koski. The teams will now turn their attention to the NCAA North Regional Championships, set for Saturday, Nov. 15 in Colfax, Wis.
