Baseball travels to UW-Stout Wednesday, hosts UW-La Crosse this weekend

The UW-River Falls baseball team is set for six games this week, traveling to face UW-Stout on Wednesday before wrapping up its 2025 home schedule this weekend, hosting nationally ranked UW-La Crosse April 26-27.

  • UWRF baseball alumni are invited to be recognized on Saturday, April 26. 
  • Sunday marks UWRF 'Employee & Family Baseball Day'
    • UW-River Falls employees and their families will receive free admission (with a valid UWRF ID)

  • For the remainder of the 2025 UW-River Falls Athletics spring sport schedule, admission to home events (including baseball) will transition to ONLINE ONLY sales through the partnership with VBO Tickets.
  • UWRF Gameday staff will be present at each game to scan your tickets, and QR codes will be on site for ease of access to the website to purchase tickets to respective events.
    • Adult: $8, Senior (65+): $6, Student (17 & under): $6

FALCON NOTES

  • The Falcons put together a 2-3 record last week, defeating the University of Northwestern 9-5 in their final non-conference game of the season before going 1-3 at UW-Oshkosh over the weekend.
    • In the series finale against the Titans, the Falcon bats erupted for 12 runs off 12 hits, including six doubles in a pair of homers. Shaun Gavin was strong on the mound, going eight innings with four strikeouts while allowing four earned runs.
    • Through five games on the week, Max Krebs led the team offensively, batting .364 with eight hits in 22 at bats, including three doubles, one triple, one homer, and five runs batted in.
  • As a team, UWRF ranks fourth in the WIAC with a .301 batting average and third with 62 doubles and nine triples.
  • Individually, Max Krebs ranks among the WIAC's top 10 with a .680 slugging percentage, 32 runs batted in, and eight home runs.
    • Kale Twombly leads the Falcons with a .372 batting average (9th/WIAC).
  • Cade Bruett leads the UWRF pitching staff with 17 strikeouts in 29.1 innings, having started in seven games with a 4.30 ERA.
