RIVER FALLS, Wis. – A historic night at Page Arena, headlined by Jack Leifker, who poured in a career-high 31 points and eclipsed the 1,000-career point milestone as the Falcons rolled past the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds men's basketball, 69-47, Wednesday night in Don Page Arena.
The Falcons took control early and never looked back, shooting 60.9 percent from the floor in the opening half to build a 37-21 advantage heading into the break. Leifker set the tone early with persistent pressure at the rim and trips to the free-throw line, finishing the night 10-of-16 from the field and 11-of-13 at the stripe.
River Falls maintained momentum after halftime, extending the lead to as many as 22 while holding Eau Claire to 30.4 percent shooting for the game. The Falcons owned the glass with a 39-25 rebounding edge and outscored the Blugolds 38-20 in the paint.
Alongside Leifker's milestone performance, Micah Thompson added 10 points and seven rebounds, while Gavin Ralph chipped in nine points and seven boards and four steals. Drew Tengblad provided a spark off the bench, knocking down a pair of triples to finish with six points.
On the other end, River Falls limited Eau Claire to just 6-of-31 from beyond the arc and forced 11 turnovers that fueled transition opportunities throughout the night.
