The UW-River Falls men's basketball team fell 104-86 on the road to the UW-Oshkosh Titans at the Kolf Sports Center. Coming off a strong midweek win over UW-Eau Claire, the Falcons stayed with the Titans early but were unable to slow their offense over the 40 minutes.
River Falls shot an efficient 50.8 percent from the field and totaled 86 points, with four Falcons reaching double digits. but the Titans built a double-digit cushion late in the first half and maintained control after the break. Oshkosh stepped into a 55-44 lead after halftime, they continued pressure in transition and at the stripe in the second half to pull away.
Jack Leifker paced the Falcons with 22 points, adding eight rebounds and going 6-of-7 at the line. Owen Havlik turned in a career-high 16 points, going 7-of-8 on free throws. Reggie Postel added 14 points, and Micah Thompson chipped in 13, three assists and four boards.
Despite winning the paint with 54 points, the Falcons was outscored at the foul line and faced a bench that produced 37 bench points. The Falcons continue WIAC play next week against UW-Stevens Point in Don Page Arena, tip-off at 7 p.m.
