MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – D3football.com released its Team of the Week for games of Oct. 9-10, 2026, with John Klefstad representing UW-River Falls at defensive tackle.

Klefstad is the second Falcon to receive D3football.com Team of the Week honors and the third for UWRF this season, following Kody Curtis (Sept. 10-12), and the offensive line of Masyn Wolf, Blake Ramlet, Grayden Thatcher, Jai Kalvik and Landon Weinmann (Sept. 18-19).

A senior from Boyceville, Wis., Klefstad finished with seven tackles and a team-high two tackles for loss while making several key stops in the second half and overtime as the Falcons defeated UW-Oshkosh 34-31 in overtime during Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 10 at Ramer Field in River Falls. Klefstad was instrumental in limiting Oshkosh's rushing attack to 105 net yards.

The No. 6-ranked Falcons (4-1, 1-1 WIAC) return to action this Saturday, Oct. 17 at No. 3-ranked UW-Platteville.

The Team of the Week, presented by Scoutware, is D3football.com's weekly honor roll, in its 28th season of recognizing the top performance at each position from the previous week. Players are nominated by schools.
