RIVER FALLS, Wis. – UW-River Falls Women's Lacrosse Assistant Coach and Defensive Coordinator
Jordan Ruggeri has been promoted to Associate Head Coach.
Since joining the Falcons, Ruggeri has played a crucial role in the development of one of the top defensive units in the WIAC and NCAA Division III. During the 2026 season, UW-River Falls ranked 30th nationally in caused turnovers, holding opponents to just over seven goals per game. The Falcons finished second in the WIAC in both caused turnovers and ground balls while setting a new program record with 251 total caused turnovers. His defense also produced the program's first ever WIAC Defensive Player of the Year, as
Julia Hayek earned the conference's top defensive honor.
The Falcons' defensive success under Ruggeri has remained consistent. In 2025, UW-River Falls led the WIAC with 230 caused turnovers and ranked 20th nationally in ground balls. Over the last two seasons, the Falcons have ranked among the conference leaders in nearly every major defensive category while earning regional and conference recognition.
Coach Ruggeri's efforts has helped the Falcons establish themselves as one of the top programs in the WIAC while producing numerous conference award winners and all-region selections.
As Associate Head Coach, Ruggeri will continue to oversee the Falcons' defensive unit and mental performance training, while taking on an expanded leadership role within the program.
