MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) released its Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for the week of Sept. 7-13, with Jaime Mata representing UW-River Falls as the Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Mata helped anchor the Falcons defensively during the week, highlighted by his performance in UWRF's 3-0 shutout victory over Minnesota Morris on Sept. 12. The Falcon goalkeeper made five saves to keep the Cougars off the scoreboard and secure the clean sheet.

The honor marks Mata's first WIAC Athlete of the Week award.

UW-River Falls returns to action Thursday, Sept. 17, hosting Luther College at Ramer Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
