Despite outshooting and out-rebounding the Titans, the Men's Basketball team fell to Oshkosh 69-52 on Saturday afternoon.
Zach Peterson scored in double figures for the third time in the last four games while recording his first career double-double. Peterson had a team-best 15 points and 10 rebounds while shooting (7-of-9) from the field.
The Falcons jumped to a 7-0 lead and never trailed in the first half, heading into the break with the score tied at 26-26.
With 13 minutes remaining, the Falcons held a four point lead before Oshkosh went on a 19-2 run going ahead 52-41. Another 14-2 run by Oshkosh put the Titans by as much as 20 points in the final minutes.
The Falcons shot 43-percent and had a 36-27 rebounding edge in the loss. But the Titans hit over 53-percent of their shots in the second half including (5-of-10) three-pointers.
Ollie White and
Arik Smith had 10 points apiece in the loss. White also picked up six rebounds.
Taylor Peterson set a career high with six assists.
Cory Nickel and Jade Royston each scored over 20 points as the Titans improve to 3-4 on the season.
The Falcons fall to 3-5 overall and 0-2 in the WIAC. They are back in action on Wednesday at Stout at 7:00 p.m.
