Box Score After coming off of a two goal game last night
Adam Cardwell had another two goal game tonight as the UW-River Falls Falcons won 2-1 over the UW-Stout Blue Devils.
The first goal of the game was scored by Cardwell at 15:22 of the first period on a shorthanded play.
The first period was a physical battle as both teams combined for nine total penalties. Despite the nine penalties neither team scored on a power play opportunity during the first period of play. UWRF finished with nine penalties and Stout finished with 14 penalties in the game.
Early in the second period Cardwell scored his tenth goal of the game on a power play goal at 0:51 of the second period. He was assisted by
Blake Huppert and
George Malliaras who now has nine assists on the season.
Overall in the game UWRF went 1-8 on power play opportunities and Stout went 0-5 on their opportunities.
Joe Beaudette got things going for the Blue Devils at 14:49 of the second period when he scored off the Sam Carr pass. Jason Cohen also was credited with an assist on the play.
Neither team would score in the third period of play. UWRF goalie
Scott Lewan recorded 24 saves and Stout's goalie Nick Harper finished with 25 saves.
UWRF will play again next weekend at home against the College of St. Scholastica with the puck set to drop at 7:05 p.m. both nights.
