White with Big Afternoon in Men's Basketball 68-55 Loss at Oshkosh

Gresmer Hits Five Three Pointers

 Ollie White had a big afternoon scoring 24 points making 12-14 free throws and grabbed nine rebounds but the UW-River Falls Falcons fell 68-55 at UW-Oshkosh.

UWO jumped out to a 20-8 lead with 10:58 left in the first half. In that time span UWRF went 1-8 from the three point line while the Titans continued to attack inside.

UWRF went on a tear to end the half going on a 15-4 scoring run. In that period they got the ball inside to White and let him work the block while Jay Sewer and Ben Gresmer both hit big threes. The two teams went into the second half tied 29-29 after the Falcons run.

To start the half Gresmer continued to stay hot hitting three second half three pointers. He finished with five threes for all of his 15 points. Outside of White and Gresmer the Falcons struggled to get any other scorers going. Grant Erickson finished the game with six assists despite only scoring one point.

With ten minutes left to play UWO scored 10 straight points to take a 52-42 lead and never looked back. With over seven minutes left UWRF did not score another field goal in the game. The Falcons finished 17-46 from the field (37%) and went 15-21 (71%) from the charity stripe. They also grabbed 34 rebounds in the game.

The Titans had four players in double digits and stayed strong down the stretch on the free throw line shooting 17-19 from the line.

UWRF falls to 7-13 overall on the season and 2-9 in WIAC play. They play next at home against UW-La Crosse with tip off set for 7 p.m.
