Men's Basketball Finishes Season With 69-60 Loss at Platteville

Five Seniors Play Last Game

Five UW-River Falls Falcons seniors played their last career game at UW-Platteville this evening in a 69-60 loss.

UWRF finishes the season 8-17 overall and 3-13 in the WIAC.

The Falcons jumped out to an early 16-11 lead over UWP with 13:18 to go in the first half.

UWP was able to take the lead back not long after and never trail again the rest of the half. As the clock hit zero on the half senior Zach Smith hit a three pointer to bring UWRF within three down 36-33 going into halftime.

Ollie White had a big first half for the Falcons scoring 12 points and grabbing three rebounds. He finished the game with 19 points and eight rebounds to cap off a great career. White finishes his career with 935 total points.

With 8:58 to go in the game senior Ben Gresmer hit a three pointer that pulled UWRF within one point down 51-50 to UWP.

A layup by White with 8:04 to go gave UWRF the lead back. Devin Buckley would then hit two free throws to give UWRF a 54-51 lead with 7:01 to go.

Platteville hit a three pointer with 4:46 left to give them a lead. UWRF never got the lead back the rest of the game.

UWP had three players in double digits including 21 points from Chas Cross who also added 10 rebounds.

The Falcons shot 19-52 (36.5%) from the field including going 8-16 (50%) from three point line and added 14-18 (77.8%) from the charity stripe. They also grabbed 30 rebounds in the game.

Buckley finished with 15 points while Gresmer finished with 13 points. No Falcon outside of White, Buckley and Gresmer had more than three points.

The five Falcon seniors are Gresmer, White, Justin Behnke, David Berthene and Zach Smith
