STEVENS POINT, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's golf team competed at the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invite this past weekend and finished 10
th overall with a two day combined score of 795.
It was a cold and windy day one in Stevens Point where the Falcons shot a 403. The course featured some of the most sloped greens the Falcons had seen so far. Day two the Falcons improved on putting and shot eleven strokes better with a 392.
Mari Pechacek led the team both days shooting a 99 day one and a 90 day two for a combined 189 that placed her tied for 32
nd overall.
Miranda Ray had the second best placing for the Falcons with a 199 score that placed her tied for 42
nd. On hole eight, Ray got a birdie on a par 3.
Maddie Flack shot a 199 and placed 44
th overall.
Vienna Jude shot a 206 to finish 47
th and
Kelley Krayecki finished out the squad with a 224 to place 51
st.
"We played better as a group today. We hit the ball the best we have all year," said Coach Westberg.
"The ladies will have a good opportunity to fine tune their games this week as we head into the conference tournament in Nekoosa next weekend," said head golf coach
Lance Westberg. "We hope to end the year playing our best golf!"
The Falcons will finish out there fall season at the WIAC Conference Championships in Nekoosa.
