Falcon golf Coach
Matt Cranston has resigned his position at the completion of the current academic year.
A search for a replacement will begin immediately.Â
Cranston completed his fifth year as head coach of the Falcons. Cranston and the Falcons turned in a great 2010 season and the first-year coach was named the WIAC Golf Coach of the Year at the WIAC Meet. In 2014 Falcon
Gillian McDonald was named  the WIAC golf Scholar-Athlete following All-WIAC team honors in 2012 and 2013,.Â
Cranston, a native of Fergus Falls, Minn., attended Bemidji State University for one year and helped BSU win a NAIA hockey National Championship in 1980. He then transferred to UWRF where he played golf and earned his degree. He played golf and hockey while attending Fergus Falls High School.
Cranston and wife Amy (UWRF alumna and four-year letter winner and captain of the Falcon gymnastics team) live in River Falls. They have three daughters, Lily, Alice, who was a senior and captain of the 2014-15 UWRF women's hockey team, and Sally.
