FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's golf team finished third shooting 380 at the Augsburg Triangular played at the University of Minnesota Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn. Thursday afternoon.
The course was wet due to the rain but the Falcons still competed and had a positive day as a team. Mari Pechacek shot the best round for the Falcons with a 92 placing her tied for 7th overall. Maddie Flack shot a 93 and Vienna Jude had a season low 95. Miranda Ray shot 100 followed by Kelley Krayecki with a 116 and Bethany Sommerfeldt with a 146.
"We are seeing some positive results in our short game performances," said Head Coach Lance Westberg. "Golf is such a tough game that requires excellence in driving, iron play, chipping, and putting. We are still working on putting all of those aspects together. It was fun to see the girls supporting each other and really coming together as a team."
The Falcons have the weekend off before they return to play at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational October 3rd and 4th.
