MENOMONIE, Wis. – The UW-River Falls men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up the second meet of the indoor season on Saturday at the UW-Stout Warren Bowlus Open.
The Falcons competed teams from UW-Stout, UW-Eau Claire, UW-River Falls, UW-Superior, St. Catherine, St. Scholastica, Northwestern-St. Paul, North Central (Minn) University and Viterbo University.
For the second consecutive meet,
Lexi LeFever headlined the Falcon women's performance with a pair of first place finishes. She won the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.76 and won the long jump at 18 feet, 10.75 inches. In addition, she helped the 4x400-meter relay team of LeFever,
Megan Halbach,
Sarah Hansen, and
Sarah Langlois earn a first place time of 4:08.36, six seconds ahead of the runner-up squad from UW-Stout.
Langlois also was a runner-up in the 400-meter run, clocking a time of 1:01.71.
Lauren Flynn and
Maria Laudenbach paced the Falcon women's distance runners. Flynn finished fifth in the mile with a time of 5:58.43 while Laudenbach's 3,00-meter run time of 11:13.79 was 12th of 28 runners.
Kimi Robertson and
Kalli Jo Klocke were strong on the pole vault, Robertson finishing second of 14 competitors at 11-2.5. Klocke's mark of 10-8.75 was fourth-best.
On the men's side,
Matt Boche and
Carter Aakre wrapped up the men's heptathlon in the morning, finishing up with the 60-meter hurdles, pole vault, and the 1,000-meter run. Boche finished 10
th with 3,107 points while Aakre finished ninth with 3,203 points.
In the men's mile,
Eric Ottosen (4:45.08),
Sam Peters (4:55.86), and
Caleb Anton (5:14.81) worked as a trio, finishing third through fifth, respectively.
Sprinters
Trever Jensen and
Dylan Wachter had a good day, with Jensen clocking a 60-meter dash time of 7.14 for second place, and Wachter finishing fifth in the 200-meter dash at 23.57. The pair also guided the 4x400-meter relay team along with
Jake Lawrence and
Kyle McCullough to a third place time of 3:36.35.
Throwers
Brady Sindelir and
Peter Place both had or matched personal bests. Sindelir had a PR shot put of 43-7.25, while Place tied his career best indoor weight throw at 48-10.75.
