RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The No. 4-ranked UW-River Falls women's hockey team defeated Augsburg University 9-0 Tuesday evening at Hunt Arena while
Callie Hoff broke Falcons' career scoring record.
UWRF improves to 18-1 overall with its 11th consecutive win and fourth-straight game with at least eight goals.
Fifth-year senior forward
Callie Hoff of Hermantown, Minn., scored the game's opening goal at 12:15 of the first period, picking a corner upon an outlet pass from
Jessica Rubenalt for her 16th goal of the season and her 169th career point, breaking the UWRF women's hockey all-time scoring record. She passed former UWRF All-American and 2017 DIII Player of the Year,
Dani Sibley on the all-time scoring list.
Hoff went on to score another while adding a pair of assists as the Falcons cruised to victory, potting a pair of goals in each of the first two periods before a five-goal third period.
Maddie McCollins scored twice,
Abigail Stow logged a career-high five assists, and
Alyson Niebur and
Alex Hantge both scored on the power play.
Braelyn Sathers,
Emma Schmitz, and
Bailey Olson also lit the lamp, while
Erin Olson tallied two assists.
Sami Miller earned her fourth shutout of the season in net, collecting 14 saves to receive the win and improve her record to 8-1.
UWRF went 2-for-3 on the power play, improving its WIAC-best power play percentage to 34.9 percent on the season. The Falcons out-shot the Auggies 31-14 and limited the visitors to just three shots on goal in each of the final two periods.
