AGAINST THE WARHAWKS
- Tuesday's game marks the 135th all-time meeting between UW-River Falls and UW-Whitewater, with the Warhawks holding an 80-54 series advantage.
- The Falcons swept the regular season series over UWW, winning 76-60 on Jan. 15 in River Falls, and 69-67 in overtime on Feb. 5 in Whitewater - the Falcons fourth overtime victory this season.
- UWW and UWRF have met five times during the WIAC Tournament in program history, with the Falcons winning four of five, including a win during last season's quarterfinals and the 2012 WIAC Championship.
WIAC TOURNAMENT HISTORY
- UW-River Falls has garnered a pair of WIAC Tournament Championships, in 2012 and 2017. Dating back to the 1999 season, UWRF has an overall 12-15 record in the WIAC Tournament.
- During WIAC Quarterfinal matchups, the Falcons are 5-9, including an 81-76 win over UW-Whitewater last season.
FALCON NOTES
- UWRF is 5-1 in the month of February, outscoring its opponents by an average scoring margin of +12.5 while compiling a .491 field goal percentage.
- The Falcons wrapped up its regular season with an upset win over No. 5-ranked UW-Platteville on Feb. 12 and a season-high scoring output with a 94-53 win at UW-Stevens Point on Feb. 16.
- In the first round of the WIAC Tournament on Friday, Feb. 18, the Falcons soared past UW-Eau Claire with a 77-42 win over the Blugolds at Page Arena. Three Falcons scored in double figures, led by 18 points from Noah Hanson off 7-of-13 shooting from the field.
- Noah Hanson is the second-leading scorer in the WIAC with 18.7 points per game and leads the league with 2.9 three-point field goals made per game. Hanson has scored in double figures in all but one game this season.
- Freshman center Rodrick Payne leads the team with 6.9 rebounds per game, and recorded four consecutive games with double-digit boards (Feb. 5-16).
- The Falcons lead the WIAC with 94 blocked shots (4.1 per game), led by 26 from junior forward Marshall Holland (4th/WIAC).
- UWRF ranks second in the conference with 14.1 assists per game, led by senior point guard Bryce Phillips, who leads the WIAC with a 2.6 assist/turnover ratio and 5.4 assists per game. Against Augsburg University on Dec. 16, Phillips broke a UWRF single-game record with 18 assists. The previous most by a Falcon was 15, set in 1989.
