RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's lacrosse team improved its record to 12-1 on the season with a 22-2 road win at the University of Northwestern Wednesday evening.
The two goals against ties a program single-game record, matching the opponent total during a 24-2 win at UW-Eau Claire last season, April 29, 2021.
UWRF took an 8-0 lead after the first period and didn't look back, adding four more in the second to lead 12-1 at halftime. The Falcons out-shot the Eagles 42-10 and allowed one goal in each half.
Senior attacker
Emma Kohlbeck led the charge, tying a season-high with six goals. She was followed by four from
Emma Heerey and a trio each from
Holly Eckers,
Kyla Palo, and
Bailey O'Donovan.
The Falcons scored 10 consecutive in the second half to lead by as many as 21.
Ashley Olson logged five saves in goal to earn the win, improving her record to 10-1.
UWRF hosts a pair of home games this weekend against UW-La Crosse and Colorado College.
