RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's lacrosse team fell 18-13 against Colorado College Saturday afternoon at Ramer Field.
It marked the first UWRF home loss of the 2022 season, dropping the Falcons' home record to 7-1 and their overall record to 13-2.
After the Falcons earned a 4-2 lead early in the second period, the Tigers scored four-straight to take a 6-4 edge and held on to their lead for the remainder of regulation.
Back-to-back goals from
Emma Kohlbeck and
Holly Eckers cut the CC lead to 9-7 at halftime, but the Tigers opened the first 10 minutes of the second half outscoring the home team 5-1 to take a 14-8 advantage.
UWRF scored three-straight to open the fourth and trim the Tiger lead to 14-11. CC countered though with four consecutive goals to lead 18-11 with three and a half remaining to put the Falcons' comeback hopes out of reach.
Colorado College peppered 45 shots on goal while Falcon netminder
Ashley Olson compiled a career-high and UWRF program record 27 saves.
Kohlbeck, Eckers, and
Bailey O'Donovan accounted for all of UWRF's goals, led by five from Kohlbeck. Eckers and O'Donovan each had four.
Josie Johnson and
Grace Hannula each had two assists.
The Falcons return to action on Monday at UW-Eau Claire.
