RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up the Falcon Invite on Saturday, the sole home meet of the outdoor season.
Both the Falcon men and women took second place behind Bethel University. The men took second with 113 points, while the women collected 119 team points.
The UWRF men and women were guided by sweeping the relay races and tallying 20 team points, winning the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays.
The men were paced by its sprinters and jumpers, headlined by
Joel Alexander's personal best pole vault of 13 feet, 3.5 inches, a personal best.
Dylan Wachter and
Kyle McCullough totaled 18 points after finished first and second in the 800-meter run at 1:57.5 and 2:00.53.
Peter Place and
Caleb Venzke led the Falcon throwers, each with runner-up finishes. Place had a second-place hammer throw of 169 feet, and Venze took second in the javelin at 151-5.
On the women's side along with its top relay teams,
Lexi LeFever had first place finishes in the 200-meter dash (25.11) and long jump (18-10).
Kimi Robertson won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.42 and had a runner-up mark in the pole vault at 11-3.75.
The women's throwers also had a strong day, with five different Falcons accumulating team points.
Katie Haase led the way with 12 points after taking third in both the discus (116-8) and javelin (90-9).
The Falcons return to action April 22-23 at UW-La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge.
