BLAINE, Minn. – The UW-River Falls men's and cross country teams took part in the first race of the 2022 season, and were led by a pair of freshmen at the Twin Cities Twilight, hosted by Bethel University at Victory Links Golf Course.
Both the men and women ran a three-mile race and each placed fourth as a team.
The Falcon men took fourth of six teams with 76 points, led by a sixth-place individual finish by
Logan Munson. The freshman in his first collegiate race clocked a time of 15:53.78 to finish sixth of 61 total runners.
Eric Ottosen followed with a time of 16:16.18 to place 12
th.
Viktor Knigge and
Christian Hjelmen also finished inside the top 20.
The women were also led by a freshman,
Jaidyn McAlpine, who finished 12
th of 61 competitors with a time of 19:53.13. UWRF took fourth place with 96 points.
Maddie Greelis also finished among the top 25 with a time of 20:48.47.
Up next, the Falcons will compete at the St. Olaf Invite on Saturday, Sept. 17.
