SKINNER SELECTED TO TEAM USA WORLDÂ UNIVERSITY GAMES
Junior goaltenderÂ
Dysen Skinner was selected to compete for Team USA in the 2023 FISU Winter World University Games, set to take place Jan. 11-21 in Lake Placid, N.Y.Â
Staged every two years in a different city, the Games are an international multi-sport event organized for university student-athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). Teams from more than 50 nations will compete in 86 medal events. University students currently enrolled in an approved academic institution and proceeding toward a degree, or who have completed/obtained their degree in the calendar year preceding the Games are eligible.
The Team USA men's team is set to open round robin play on Wednesday, Jan. 11, when they host Great Britain at Clarkson University's Cheel Arena in Postdam, N.Y.
FALCON NOTES
- UWRFÂ is coming off a split of non-conference MIAC opponents last weekend, falling 5-3 at the College of St. Scholastica before defeating Gustavus Adolphus College 3-1.
- Freshman forward Owen Belisle scored his first two goals as a Falcon, and was named the Male Falcon of the Week.
- The Falcons lead the WIAC with a 0.542 faceoff winning percentage, led by Noah Roofe's 189 faceoff wins.
- Senior forward Mike Gelatt leads the Falcons with 12 points off five goals and seven assists. He scored goals in four consecutive games Dec. 10-Jan. 7.
