WIAC TO ADD WOMEN'S LACROSSE
  • The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recently announced the addition of women's lacrosse for the 2023-24 academic year. The WIAC will award its first women's lacrosse champion in spring 2024. 
  • Teams expected to play for the inaugural women's lacrosse championship are WIAC full-time members UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse, UW-River Falls, UW-Stevens Point and UW-Stout, along with affiliate members Colorado College and Southwestern University (Texas). 
  • Teams will play a round robin schedule during the regular season with the top-four teams advancing to the conference tournament. 
FALCON NOTES
  • The Falcons are coming off a pair of losses to Western Connecticut State and Stevenson University March 14-16 in Mesa, Ariz.
    • Through two games, Emily Herdine led the Falcons with six goals.
  • UWRF's first win of the season was on Feb. 19 at Sewanee, defeating the Tigers 13-11.
  • Freshman midfielder Sydney Chance-Farley has started in all four games and leads the team with 13 goals.
  • Sophomore goaltender Kayden Hersback has started all four games in net, and has compiled 27 saves.
