RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's lacrosse team wont 16-5 against the College of Saint Benedict during the home opener Monday night on Ramer Field at David Smith Stadium.
UWRF opened the game scoring six-straight, and led by as many as 10 to improve its overall record to 2-3 on the season.
The Falcons compiled season-highs with 24 points, 44 shots (35 on goal), 30 ground balls, and 19 clears.
A collective effort paced the Falcon offense, led by three goals each from
Grace Hannula,
Emily Herdine, and
Bailey O'Donovan.
Sydney Chance-Farley scored twice along with a game-high four assists. In goal, freshman
Abby Hammond made her first collegiate start and made eight saves to earn her first win as a Falcon.
The Falcons remain at home this week, hosting Hamline University Thursday evening.
