RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's lacrosse team earned a commanding 20-6 win over Hamline University Thursday night at Ramer Field.
With their second win in a row at home, UWRF improves to 3-3 overall with a season-high goal output.
After just a 4-3 Falcon lead after the first period, the home team exploded for 15 goals in the next two periods to lead 19-4 heading into the fourth period, plenty room to coast to victory.
UWRF limited the Pipers to eight shots on goal while tallying 29, also forcing 13 Hamline turnovers and holding the visitors to eight successful clears on 16 attempts.
The Falcons were led by senior midfielder
Josie Johnson, who scored a career-high seven goals, including a 4-for-4 effort on free position shots.
Sydney Chance-Farley and
Bailey O'Donovan also paced the Falcon offense with four goals each.
Kayden Hersback received the start in net and made two saves to earn the win, improving her record to 2-3 on the season.
UWRF remains at home to host the University of Northwestern next Wednesday, March 29.
