NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The UW-River Falls women's lacrosse team earned a 16-4 road win at North Central College Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons, now 5-4 overall, outshot the Cardinals 32-7 with 24 shots on target. Additionally, UWRF forced 26 Cardinal turnovers and held the home team to 14 successful clears on 24 attempts. Meanwhile, the Falcons were a perfect 18-for-18 on clear attempts and led 15-8 on draw controls.
UWRF jumped out to a 5-2 first quarter lead and held the Cardinals scoreless in the second while gaining a 9-2 lead at halftime.
The Falcons opened the second half with three-straight goals to take a double-digit lead and coasted to victory.
Josie Johnson and
Sydney Chance-Farley led the Falcons with four goals each, followed by three goals from
Emma Heerey.
Kayden Hersback made the start in net and made three saves to earn the win, improving her record to 3-3 on the season.
UWRF has a week off before returning to action April 10 at UW-Eau Claire.
