RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls softball team opened its 2023 WIAC schedule Friday afternoon at Perkins Stadium, sweeping UW-Stout with 10-1 and 5-2 victories.
On the day, UWRF totaled 17 hits compared to Stout's six.
Kelly Aultman had a day for the Falcons, batting 6-for-6 with two doubles and two home runs, batting in six runs.
UWRF (14-10, 2-0 WIAC) continues conference play next week versus UW-Stevens Point and UW-Platteville.

Game one featured 10 runs off nine hits, including a three hit, five-RBI game from Aultman.
A nine-run third inning for UWRF put the game out of reach, scoring nine off six hits and one Stout error. Aultman notched her first homer of the day, along with runs batted in from
Hannah Richards,
Johanna Breyen,
Keegan Piton, and a bases clearing double from Aultman.
Maggie Wallin picked up her fourth complete game of the season in the pitcher's circle. She held the Blue Devils hitless and scoreless through four innings before the visitors got on the board with their sole run of the game in the fifth.
Behind Aultman's 3-for-3 game at the plate, Breyen and Piton each had two hits.

Morgan Stevenson tallied her third complete game of the season, holding Stout scoreless through six innings while the Falcon offense scored five runs off eight hits.
UWRF took a 2-0 lead in the second, scoring a pair of unearned runs, including an RBI single from Breyen. Aultman's second homer of the day extended UWRF's led to 3-0 in the fourth, and the home team added one each in the next two innings.
Leading 5-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh, Stout threatened, loading the bases with one out. They scored a pair of runs, but Stevenson and the Falcon defense got the final two outs for the win and the series sweep.
