RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's lacrosse team defeated Lake Forest College 16-6 Sunday afternoon inside Smith Stadium at Ramer Field.
With their fifth consecutive win, the Falcons improved their record to 10-5 overall and 6-0 at home.
It took eight minutes for UWRF to earn a 5-0 lead, and they didn't look back, eventually gaining a 10-goal lead just over a minute into the second half.
UWRF outshot Lake Forest 33-13, forcing 24 Forester turnovers while holding the visitors to 10 successful clears on 22 attempts. UWRF went 12-for-14 on clear attempts and tallied 25 ground balls.
Grace Hannula set the tone offensively, tying a career-high with six goals.
Holly Eckers followed with four goals while
Emily Herdine had a team-high three assists.
Aliviah McClinton led the Falcons with six ground balls.
Kayden Hersback improved her record to 5-4 on the season in goal, making five saves.
UWRF closes out its regular season with a pair of home games next week.
