INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The NCAA announced the 2023 Outdoor Track & Field Championship qualifiers on Friday, May 19, featuring UW-River Falls'
Lexi LeFever and
Annika Gunderson.
The pair of Falcons will compete May 25-26 at the Polisseni Track and Field Complex in Rochester, NY. LeFever qualified for the women's heptathlon, and Gunderson in the women's pole vault.
At the 2023 NCAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala.,
Lexi LeFever earned her fourth career All-America accolade, finishing seventh in the pentathlon. She's coming off a WIAC Outdoor title in the women's long jump and finished eighth at the Drake Relay's women's heptathlon, tallying a personal-best 4,761 points, the second-highest total in UWRF history which ranks fifth currently in the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Qualifying list.
Annika Gunderson holds the UWRF women's program indoor & outdoor pole vault records, recently breaking the outdoor record a the May 12 Eagle Open with a mark of 3.78 meters (12'4.75"), which ranks 15th on the NCAA Qualifying list.
