COLFAX, Wis. - The UW-River Falls men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Blugold Invitational Friday afternoon at Whitetail Golf Course, hosted by UW-Eau Claire.
Laina Viere from the UWRF women's team highlighted the Falcons' performance as she clocked a season-best 6k time of 23:37.1, which is 21 seconds shy of a UWRF top-20 time and the fastest for a Falcon since 2021. Viere finished 33rd of 200 women's varsity runners.
The Falcon women tallied 530 points with an average time of 25:28 to finish 18th of 25 teams.
Logan Munson led the UWRF to a 22nd place finish of 30 teams with a season-best 8k time of 27:26.5.
Up next, the Falcons are scheduled to compete at the UW-La Crosse Drews/Neubauer Invitational on Oct. 14 at Maple Grove Venues in West Salem, Wis., the final meet before the WIAC Championships.
