PRESCOTT, Wis. – The UW-River Falls men's and women's cross country teams opened their 2023 season hosting the River Town Twilight at Prescott High School.
The UWRF finished third as a team in the 6k with 76 points, while the men took fourth in the 8k with 100 points.
The UW-Stout women took first place with 15 points, including the top-five runners, and the UW-Whitewater men took first seven of the eight top finishers.
Freshman
Laina Viere led the Falcon women with an 11th place time of 24:41.2, trailed by top-20 finishes from
Peyton Opsahl 925:10.2) and
Maddie Greelis (25:23.4).
Logan Munson led the UWRF men with a time of 28:03.5, along with teammate
Sam Peters seconds later at 28:07.8 to finish 38th and 39th, respectively.
UWRF returns to action on Sept. 22, set to compete in the University of Minnesota's Roy Griak Invitational.
