CLERMONT, Fla. – The UW-River Falls softball team dropped its first game of the day to Manchester University before bouncing back with an extra-inning win over Bowdoin College.
The Falcons, now 7-3 overall, have gone 3-3 during three days of their spring break competition.
Manchester 13, UW-River Falls (5 inn.)
During game one on the day, the Spartans outscored the Falcons by eight runs, scoring 13 off 13 hits to win in five innings.
UWRF was limited to five runs off eight hits.
Kelly Aultman led the way with a 3-for-3 game at the plate with three runs batted in, including a three-run homer, her second of the season.
Johanna Breyen also had a pair of hits.
UW-River Falls 5, Bowdoin (8 inn.)
UWRF led by four runs through three innings before Bowdoin forced extra innings, tied 7-7 after seven innings.
In the eighth inning, a
Kayla Dolan RBI single scored
Jewel Waupekenay for the game-winning run.
Maggie Wallin then closed the door in the bottom half, finishing her fourth complete game of the season.
Hannah Effertz led the Falcons with four hits, with two doubles.
