WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. - The UW-River Falls softball team fell to No. 22 ranked UW-Stevens Point in Wisconsin Rapids Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons, now 10-18 overall and 0-10 during WIAC play return to action at home Wednesday afternoon to face conference opponent UW-Eau Claire.
Senior
Maggie Wallin pitched her ninth complete game of the season, with nine strikeouts in game one. Sophomore
Maddie Koch led the team with three hits on the day.

The Falcons were able to hold the Pointers scoreless through the first three innings. UWSP scored two runs in the fourth and two runs in the sixth to take game one.Â
The Falcons had no answers for the Pointers bats and lost the hitting battle 5-3.

The pointers opened up scoring in game two, scoring two runs in the first inning. The Falcons responded with two runs of their own to tie the game up.
Addi DeMeyer singled up the middle for an RBI in the second followed by
Abby Pitts scoring an RBI of her own in the fourth.Â
UWSP made their own response with a three unanswered runs, scoring one in the fourth and two more in the sixth inning. This took the lead and secured the doubleheader sweep over the Falcons.
The Falcons out hit the Pointers 8-5, but were unable to bring home their runners on base.Â
In the pitchers' circle,
Lindsey Duggan suffered the loss, with
Brooklyn VanGruensven coming in for relief in the fifth.Â

Maddie Koch each had two hits.Â
